Interested in making a positive impact and creating great technology? We're looking for a Data Science Engineer to be part of our growing core team. As a Data Science Engineer you will play an important role in developing predictive analytics for our SaaS application. You must have solid communication skills, be detail oriented, and show leadership and an exemplary work ethic.

Job Description

  • Assume responsibility for tasks related to data analysis and data science, including understanding company goals and supporting their success through development of new methods, communicating status of development process, documenting methodology, and preparing written material to communicate methods and results to senior executive level audience.
  • Mentor junior team members in data analysis and data science best practices
  • Own the machine learning model lifecycle, from prototyping to production implementation
  • Build predictive and explanatory models of energy use, capable of running on a large volume of data in an automated environment
  • Design randomized control trial (RCT) experiments for energy savings analyses
  • Perform statistical analyses to quantify energy savings
  • Spearhead analytics to understand and increase end-user customer engagement
  • Assist junior team members with creation of control groups and BER mailed reports
  • Complete statistical analysis to create and deliver EMV reports monthly, quarterly, or on demand for utility clients
  • Adhere to information security policies for data analysis and software deliverables

Required Skills

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related quantitative field
  • 3+ years’ experience in a professional data scientist role
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal/communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to research solutions to new problems, rapidly learn new methods, and integrate and analyze data from multiple large and complex data sets
  • Comfort with writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience with Agile project management and writing software in a team environment using Git
  • Experience writing object-oriented code, documentation, and unit tests in Python
  • Strong experience with pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow, numpy, scipy, statsmodels, and jupyter
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning, probability, and statistics
  • Proven experience in deploying machine learning models to production
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, SageMaker, Personalize, and Forecast)
  • Experience with and knowledge of how commercial buildings use energy, as well as strategies for improving energy efficiency strongly desirable but not required
